Sorry folks I
accidentally sent this too soon. Here is the rest.
"Hmmph aaah!!" Little Joe was in
the grip of a nightmare.
"Joe!" Ben rushed into the room
and reached out to untangle his youngest son
from the blankets. "Joe wake up."
Green eyes staring, Little Joe sat
up
grabbing for his father's reassurance.
"Pa I just had the most awful dream!
All four of us were walking on the trail
with nothing but our hats and boots.
The
'Blue Dress Gang' had stolen our
clothes."
"That sounds like a quite a
dream." Ben's felt himself losing the effort to
keep a straight face.
"I'll say." Joe's mood changed
abruptly when he spotted his older brothers
sleepy and concerned, watching over
Ben's
shoulder. "Adam was covered with
entirely too much hair."
Ben snorted trying to restrain
himself. Hoss
didn't try, he laughed and punched
the most serious Cartwright son in
the
shoulder. Adam just looked at Joe, hazel
eyes twinkled as they met
mischievious
green. Ben swiveling around saw his
sober first born, gave up and joined
Hoss in
laughter.
Adam gathered his dignity like a
cloak.
"Later for you." He promised Little
Joe, and left the room.
Little Joe's contagious giggle
bubbled up
and so began another day for the
Cartwrights.
