Rated:  PG Summary:  Part One of four.   Joe learns that compassion and understanding are the footnotes to love; and that love can destroy the hate in a man's heart, give renewal to a man's spirit as it binds two unlikely souls in a most unusual friendship between a young man and a hardened Pauite warrior.

Summary:  This IS the final chapter to Chinese Molasses, a story I once thought finished.  But with so many requests for more, I was forced into adding to the ongoing plot.  Prelude to Rebirth, will explain without details, what really happened to Joe Cartwright when Lin Wong returned unexpectedly a year later.  After believing to be dead, Lin Wong enters the Cartwright home and finds Joe alone.  From that meeting, Joe's nightmare becomes a reality that takes him from one lifetime into another, where he seeks refuge.  The Rebirth of Joe Cartwright, tells of Joe's struggles, his strengths, and his determination to rise above what this highly abusive man inflicted upon him.  The unconditional love of Ben Cartwright, is highly portrayed and much of Joe's recovery is credited to his father

Summary:  "Sooner of later, the day will come when a man will force you into a shoot out, and there will be no way out of it, except kill or be killed." Adam shared a bit of wisdom with his youngest brother the day that Joe was permitted to wear a sidearm for the first time.  Little did either brother realize how soon those words would come back to haunt them.

Title:  Gossamer Dreams  (Part one)

Summary:   'And love is sheer magic for it's woven of Gossamer dreams, enchantingly real, that people in love are privileged to feel.'  Found unconscious and near death, a young destitute woman and her two children take Joe Cartwright home with them in hopes of saving his life.  Love blossoms, but Joe knows something about the woman's husband...and his conscience forces him to share it with her.
