Title: The
Unforgiving Past
Rated: PG (mile violence and discovery of a murder
at the beginning)
Summary: Can Roy Coffee solve the biggest mystery
of his career when the foreman of the jury is found murdered? Is
Joe's safety in jeopardy as he serves on the jury and knows the first
victim? Can Adam use his logic and intelligence to help Roy solve
the case while
keeping his emotions in check in looking out for Joe? All of the
answers
are in the story.
Title: The
Imperfect Sons
Rated: PG
Summary: The theme of the story is imperfections within
ourselves and the people we love. All families deal with this,
especially the Cartwrights, as they are four men who have
contrasting characteristics. The story is like a wheel with each son
spinning around in a conflict and Ben as the connecting hub that brings
them all together again.
Title: The
Illegitimate Son
Rated: PG, because the word "sex" is used, but there are
no details of sex or anyone going to bed. It's used in the
context of being
illegitimate.
Summary: My first attempt at a comedy. Involves the
entire family in trying to help Adam solve two problems. His
father died and he's identified as being illegitimate.
Title: Dancing Moon
Rated: G Although it has mild violence
and the suggestion of a child that dies.
Summary: On his way home, Adam encounters the challenge
of helping some Indian children. He no more has that duty under
control when a young Indian girl needs his help. But the values
that Ben has taught his sons has obviously been embraced by Adam.
Title: Between
Bread and Brothers
Rated: G
Summary: Light-hearted tale of what can happen when
brothers try to do something about their boredom when they are snowed
in.
Title: The Gift to
Charity
Rated: G
Summary: Light-hearted scene about an 11-year old Joe
getting his money to give to Adam's charity.
Title: Eat
Hardy-But Feed No Fool
Rated: G
Summary: Light-hearted story of Joe's worst nightmare.....it's his
turn to cook for the family.
Title: Stop the Press
Rated: PG 13 Comedy/Lighthearted. One brawl and one threatened brawl
all in the context of humor.
Summary: Ben is attacked in articles by a tramp newspaper in town.
Joe thinks up an idea to try and stop the attacks. He wrangles Hoss into his scheme.
What will brother Adam do? He stays a cautious distance as he tells his brothers,
"If you two are involved, then just by nature, it's going to go wrong."
Lenght: For those who print stories, this is a long one (62 pages).
Title: A Pair of Golden Earrings
Rated: PG (mild violence)
Summary: Sometimes things aren't always what they seem. That's what Adam tells Emily Hampton who believes her world has been destroyed by a simple pair of golden earrings. In her attempt to start a new life in Virginia City, she is bothered by her growing interest in Adam. Is he what he seems to be or will she find out he's a lot like Phillip?
